Canaima national park was created on the 12th June 1962 and it is located in Bolivar state. The park covers more than 30.000 km2 and delineates the frontiers of Brazil and Guyana. Due to the park extension, this is considerate as the sixth biggest national park in the world. It was declared by the UNESCO as World Heritage in 1994. Around 65% of Canaima is made of plateaus, which are known as Tepuyes, and this special topography creates a unique ecosystem. Between its cliffs and waterfalls can be found the Salto Angel, which is the highest waterfall in the world, 978m high. Apart of these characteristics the park includes the Caroní’s hollows and many affluent rivers. In this amazing expedition we are going paddling on two of these affluent rivers

This expedition was designed to exploit the most beautiful part of Venezuelan’s jungle. In this incredible adventure we will departure in front of palafitos of the aboriginal community Waraos which are located close to the town, known as Temblador. This area was found in Monagas State which is 600km away from the Capital City of the country.
We are going to navigate downstream on river, which thanks to the high caudal and low latitude. There are no rafting areas and the watercourse, The speed of the water is almost imperceptible three kilometres per hour. Moreover, we are going to camping on the river shore in a palafito camp. Finally, after 50km of paddling we are going to finish in a small an unknown lake, called La Guasaconica. It is noticeable that this place can be accessed by just two routes and these are private areas. Due to this fact the ecosystems is virgin.
